Made It! #25

~ I love Pinterest and would like to make a recipe of my boards every week. Since I have lots of recipes pinned (that, until now, I just pinned and only that), I hope this will be a way to reduce the amount of pins on my boards ~

As said last week I would make the Cherry Coconut Smoothie. Instead of frozen cherries, as in the original recipe, I used fresh ones. And as expected it was as good as I thought it would be!

A friend of mine posted these avocado recipes on her FB timeline and just out of curiosity I want to try the brownies. As the taste is just as good as the real deal, than it could be a keeper. Honey instead of sugar and avocado instead of butter. Sounds so healthy! Just wondering what the taste will be like.

Unicorn Pendant

Maybe you remember the Pink Unicorn I crocheted a while ago for my youngest. Well, unicorns are still da bomb in this house. So my next unicorn related assignment was to make a necklace for my youngest.

I found this idea here!

Thank you so much, Susie and Laurie!

Benjamin Bunny was also featured! Love that! Every time I see it, I see the kitchen of my late grandmother with that rabbit hanging beside her little pantry. The Stitchin' Mommy and Fluster Buster featured Benjamin!

Thank you very much, Amy and Robin!

Mr Tod Bookmarker

As I told you in my last post, I bought The Complete Tales by Beatrix Potter for my daughters, to put in what we call The Holidays Surprise Bag. In the book there's also a fox, named Mr Tod. Plan is to read the book to them and because I don't want to fold the pages, as I do with my own books to mark where I stopped reading, I made this bookmarker.

I found this idea here.

This week I made the Three Cheese Pesto Spinach Flatbread Pizza, or the Flatbread Pizza, for short. But because my husband only likes Pizza Marguerita, I also made pizzas with just tomatoes and grated cheese. They were so good, that I think this will become a regular weekend dish!

Next thing I'm going to make is the Cherry Coconut Smoothie. All smoothies are good, but the ones with cherries in it are the best!

Benjamin Bunny

Summer holidays are approaching really fast now. Before we take off for a vacation, I always put together a nice bag full of suprises for my daughters, to keep them busy, the hours we aren't making trips to the swimming pool, beach, park, zoo or whatever we will be going to visit while away from home.
One of the things I always put in the bag is a book, either a book they can read themselves, or a book I can read to them. Last week I cleaned out a cabinet in which I keep a bag full of things I got from my grandmother after she died. One of the things in the bag, is something I made for her some years ago, while I was still a teenager: Benjamin Bunny, one of the characters in the book of Peter Rabbit.

Actually I like it more now than I did back than. I remember the cross stitching asked all the patience I had in me, as the stitches were only 1mm and I wanted it to be perfect, because I made it for my grandmother. It was one of the first cross stitch projects I did, but I think it looks nice and neat.

Anyway, that's how I came to the idea to buy The Complete Tales by Beatrix Potter for the Holiday Surprise Bag.

Doily Table Runner

The last couple of weeks I've been busy crocheting different doilies, just to sew them all together to one larger table cover. I saw this idea here and loved it so much, that I wanted to make one, too.

Made It! #23

I made the Vegan Key Lime Ice Cream! The taste was great, even before freezing it was delicious!! I'm not a vegan, but it works for vegetarians as well.
Even carnivores can eat this! I would try this for sure, if I were you!

Only thing is that I'm not in the possession of an ice maker, so I just mixed all ingredients and put them in a container in the freezer. It had some ice crystals in it, but even though, it still looked like ice! Amazing!

For next week I found another, what I think might be, pretty tasteful recipe. It's because of the word pesto that my attention was pulled to this one:

Natura Artis Magistra

A couple of days ago I went to my all time favorite zoo, that happens to be in my hometown Amsterdam: Natura Artis Magistra, meaning 'the masterly art of nature' (locally known as Artis).

Here are some random pics:

Besides fauna there's also a lot of beautiful flora

And what I like a lot personally is this eatable garden. All vegetables are grown to feed the animals with.

Feline creature looking at the birds. Cats, who doesn't love them. You just have to.

Garage Sale

Upcoming weekend there will be a Garage Sale in the little village I grew up and my daughters desperately want to participate, so they can earn some money. They made a lot of bracelets, necklaces and ear rings to sell.

And I crocheted Ice Cone Key Chains, more Market Bags and more Dream Catchers for them.

Made It! #22

~ I love Pinterest and would like to make a recipe of my boards every week. Since I have lots of recipes pinned (that, until now, I just pinned and only that), I hope this will be a way to reduce the amount of pins on my boards ~

Last week I announced I would make the Lemonade, because since we went to Sicily a couple of weeks ago, I'm totally into lemons.

 So here's mine.

Instead of the whole cup of sugar used in the original recipe, I only used four table spoons. That's sweet enough for me. I also used only two lemons for the lemon juice. So it's actually more something in between lemonade and lemon infused water. Fresh and cold, perfect for warm summer days.

~*~

For next week I would like to make this Vegan Key Lime Ice Cream. It caught my eye because of the Key Limes. I only tasted those limes in a milk shake, that I had once when I was at Robert Is Here in Homestead, Florida (anyone knows the place?), while on vacation. Living in The Netherlands I don't think I can find the real Key Limes, but they sell regular limes here, so that has to do the trick.

Honestly, I'm very curious about this recipe. I think, but it's just thinking, that I will be the only one in my family who will like this ice cream (which is good, because I can have it all for myself).
